2 Days Before Christmas
My mad Christmas dash has come to an end this morning. After having to adjust my sked to accomodate caroling with FC, going to Batangas to give out my workers’ salaries, as well as their Christmas bonuses and gifts, last minute shopping for my family’s gifts, having them wrapped, spending time with friends, I’m now back in Pampanga with my family, if only for a couple of days. This Christmas is a little bit more special for us because, well, its actually been a while since all 5 of us were together, what with me being in Manila and Batangas, my brother in Dumaguete for college, my sister living with my Aunt in Manila and my other sister here in Pampanga with my mom. So there. We’re doing the whole “I’ll be home for Christmas” bit.
Anyway, this morning. I haven’t been that tired in a long time, but I really, genuinely had fun. We actually started yesterday afternoon at around 5PM, when we were supposed to sing for the nuns at ICA, which I’d skipped in favor of singing at mass. From there we sang at 5 other locations around the Metro, which, I must say, really drained me because of the distance and the traffic around the city. We ended at around 12 midnight, afterwhich we immediately went back to Greenhills West to start preparing the Arroz Caldo that we were supposed to serve at the dawn mass at MTQ this morning. I’d already taken a step back from the front lines because we’ve already been at it for so many years and the newer high school members should take it on themselves already, which they did of course.
All in all it was great, as it is every year. But like every year, the arroz caldo morning means for me that Christmas is a little under 48 hours away. Kinda sad for me actually, since I love the season and all that goes in and around it, and there’s that reminder that its going to be over in a couple of days, that everyone will go back to their normal routines and stuff. If you’ve been following this blog, I’ve made an earlier entry of why I love December so much. Oh well, the world spins on, there’s always next year.

thanks oli!!!
